Ukraine and Greece agreed on gas supplies to our country, it will begin in January. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis communion with journalists.
"Today we have an extremely important agreement - an agreement on gas supplies to Ukraine. In fact, every night now the Russians are striking our infrastructure. Most of all - at the energy infrastructure. Most of the power plants in Ukraine, our gas production, our thermal plants have become simply targets for missiles," the president said.
According to him, the destruction after the impacts takes time to recover.
"We rebuild every time the Russians destroy, but it really takes time, a lot of effort, equipment. As for gas, it requires importing gas to compensate for the destruction of our own production by the Russians," the head of state noted.
He emphasized that the agreements with Greece today are an important part of a large energy package that has been prepared for this winter to provide Ukraine with gas.
"Gas supplies will begin in January. And it is important that our first agreements will be implemented in the first quarter. And also, in addition to the agreement on operational gas supplies, there are also long-term agreements. Today we talked about this with the Prime Minister. Our heads of energy companies agreed on this," the president said.
