European countries must provide further military aid to Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday, a day after the United States announced it was limiting supplies of air defense missiles and other ammunition to Ukraine over concerns about its own stockpiles. "This is a clear signal to step up our own support and increase European defense capabilities, not only at EU level, but also at continental level," von der Leyen said during a visit to Denmark on the occasion of the official ceremony of the Nordic country taking over the presidency of the Council of the EU.
