Hamas Casualties and Survival

"For years, these members of the Hamas leadership have directed the operations of the terrorist organization, [they] are directly responsible for the October 7 [2023] massacre, and have organized and led the war against the State of Israel," the army said in a statement.

Al Arabiya TV channel reports that according to initial reports, the head of the Hamas negotiating delegation, Khalil al-Hayya, was killed in the attack.

The terrorist group has not yet confirmed his death.

Al-Hayya is the highest-ranking Hamas leader outside the Palestinian territories and led indirect talks with Israel on a ceasefire. He was based primarily in Qatar.

A source unofficially confirmed to Qatari television channel Al Jazeera that the attack was directed against the group's negotiating delegation.

Qatar has strongly condemned Israel's attack on the homes of Hamas leaders in Doha, saying it was a flagrant violation of international law that threatens the security of Qatar and its citizens.
