“There is a huge participation, it is a sign that love cannot be banned by law. Banning the Pride means institutional discrimination, it is not acceptable in the European Union. It was important for us to be here, to bring full solidarity to the Hungarians”. Thus the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, participating in the Budapest Pride. “We are here for freedom and democracy. You cannot erase the identity of people, our bodies, we are people we have rights”, she added in a press conference alongside the president of the S&D group in the European Parliament, Iratxe Garcia Perez.
