Trump's Ultimatum to Russia

Weapons Supply to Ukraine

President of the United States Donald Trump announced that he would impose secondary tariffs against the Russian Federation and its partners if there is no agreement on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine within 50 days. He made this statement during meetings with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House.

"Everything is very simple. And they will be 100 percent (of duties - UNIAN). It could be simpler, but that's how it is. I hope we don't have to do this," he clarified.

Weapons supply to Ukraine

The American leader also spoke about the supply of American weapons to Ukraine.

"NATO and the US Permanent Representative to the Alliance, Matthew Whitaker, will coordinate the supply of American weapons to Ukraine," he said.

Trump added that the United States and the European Union had reached an agreement to supply weapons to Ukraine. According to him, the costs would fall on Europe.

"We'll produce it, and they'll pay for it. Our last meeting, which was a month ago, was very successful in the sense that they agreed to 5 percent, which is over a trillion dollars a year. So they have a lot of money. These are rich countries," Trump shared.

In addition, the US president announced the sending of 17 Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. He emphasized that most of these systems will be on the battlefield.

"Some (Patriot complexes - UNIAN) will arrive very soon. Within a few days, actually, because several countries that have Patriots are going to replace them, and we will replace the Patriots with the ones they have, and Matthew Whitaker will coordinate with NATO. They will start arriving very soon," the American leader said.

Trump is disappointed with Putin

The US president admitted that he was disappointed with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He said that he had hoped that the Kremlin leader would agree to a ceasefire, but that this did not happen.

"I'm disappointed in President Putin because I thought we were going to make an agreement two months ago, but it doesn't seem to have come to that. So based on that, we're going to impose secondary tariffs - if we don't have an agreement within 50 days," the American president stressed.

Trump added that after the conversation with Putin, Russian missiles and drones flew over Ukrainian cities. According to him, such conversations are meaningless.

Ukrainians are fighting with great courage.

Trump also praised the Ukrainians for the immense courage with which they continue to fight against Russia. He noted that Moscow often attacks non-military targets in Ukraine.

"The Ukrainians fought with great courage, and continue to fight with great courage. And Russia launches hundreds of drones a day, missiles, bombs cities. This is not related to military targets. They are just sowing panic, striking cities. It is truly terrible. And this means that many people are dying, and the infrastructure is also destroyed, the entire city. They are destroying electricity. It will take years to restore it. That will be the next problem. But it will take a long time. Cities - many of them are completely destroyed. Many people left. But, many stayed. I don't know. They really stayed," the US president added.

Putin announced a major offensive to Trump - what is known

Axios previously reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a phone call with US President Donald Trump on July 3, announced a major offensive of his troops in Ukraine. The publication noted that this was one of the factors that convinced Trump to take the path of a sharp change in rhetoric towards Moscow.

According to the source, Trump told French President Emmanuel Macron about this.
