Minister Gila Gamliel sparked controversy by showing a Gaza Strip without Gazans and promoting their voluntary emigration.
Netanyahu increasingly isolated as Gaza war drags on
Israeli Science and Technology Minister Gila Gamliel sparked controversy at the end of July after posting an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video on social media site X showing a Gaza transformed into a luxury coastal resort, with no Palestinian presence.
The video, which echoes the Trumpist vision of Gaza as a seaside resort, is titled the Gamliel-Trump Plan and promotes the voluntary emigration of Gazans, a proposal Gamliel claims to have submitted to the security cabinet in October 2023.
The video piece begins with footage of the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and then cuts to scenes of glittering skyscrapers, beaches, and seaside promenades featuring AI-generated versions of Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, accompanied by their wives. The Trump sign can be read on one of the fictional towers.
This is what Gaza will look like in the future. Voluntary emigration of Gazans, only under Trump and Netanyahu. It's us or them, the minister wrote in the post.
According to The Times of Israel, Gamliel's plan envisions three possible futures for Gaza: reestablishing the Palestinian Authority, establishing a local, non-Islamist leadership under Israeli military control, or promoting the voluntary departure of Palestinians, an option she considers preferable.

The proposal has been harshly criticized by both Jewish organizations in the U.S. and the international community, which views it as a covert form of ethnic cleansing. Forced migration is prohibited under international law.
The minister had previously released other AI-generated videos, including one showing Netanyahu walking through the streets of a free Tehran, under the slogan"Next year in free Tehran."
