Erika Kirk, the widow of American conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead in Utah on Wednesday, vowed to continue her husband's mission. She said this during a livestreamed speech:"The movement my husband built will not die."

During her speech, which was livestreamed from the headquarters of the conservative organization Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk stood next to the empty chair her husband usually used to record his podcasts. She began with a prayer and then, with a sob in her voice, thanked the first responders, Kirk's staff, the president, and Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife.

She then vowed to continue her husband's mission. To the"evildoers responsible for my husband's murder" (she chose the word "evil-doers," a term often used in the Bible), she said:"You have no idea what kind of fire you have lit in this woman. This widow's cry will echo around the world like a war cry."

If you thought my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you have unleashed in this country and the world. The movement my husband built will not die.

Tour continued

Erika Kirk then announced that her husband's campus tour this fall will go ahead as planned, though she didn't specify exactly what format it would take. His podcast will also continue. She also promoted Turning Point USA and the Christian faith.

According to her, her murdered husband fought not only a political battle, but"above all a spiritual one." She said she still believed he was "watching over us." "Now and forever, he stands by his savior's side, and he wears the glorious crown of a martyr."
