Blair, Kushner and Trump's plans!

Sunday, August 31

No political horizon after the war on Gaza, general and vague talk, stalled negotiations, and conspicuous chaos in US President Donald Trump's plans.

The summoning of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the US President's first-term advisor and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to the Gaza file, with all its complexities and tragedies, was disturbing in itself.

The White House kept the meeting, which included the two men, the US president, and a number of his senior aides, under tight secrecy, except for a few leaks that US news websites vied to publish.

The secrecy was an indication of the seriousness of the meeting, but the White House tended to downplay its importance before it even began!

The Arabs, not just some of them, were absent from the discussions, which touch on the very heart of their future and existence. Ron Dermer, Israel's Minister of Strategic Affairs, attended as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trusted personal representative, ensuring he was fully informed of the details of the discussions.

Despite the scarcity of information and leaks, the background of the two new arrivals, Blair and Kushner, cast doubt on the direction of the meeting and its possible outcome.

First, his political record in the crises and wars of the Middle East does not inspire any confidence. According to official documents contained in the report of the British Inquiry into the circumstances of the Iraq War, headed by Sir John Chilcot, Blair pledged in a written letter to US President George W. Bush in September 2002, months before the invasion, to stay with him to the end.

As is typical of international press coverage of such reports, it picks out what is essential and revealing from among the thousands of pages of documents and testimonies.

I found in Blair's handwritten letter evidence of his intention to support Bush's policies regardless of any rules required by his responsibilities or any British interests.

Despite Blair's apology to the families of the British victims, he insists he bears no responsibility for the spread of terrorism. He finds no inclination to make a similar apology to the Iraqi victims or for what happened in the Arab world, including the undermining of the Palestinian cause, for which he chaired the Quartet for eight years in an unsuccessful attempt to find a solution.

Assigning him to that position was a kind of American reward for his role in the war on Iraq.

He received other awards from the Arab world!

He completely failed in his mission to achieve a comprehensive Palestinian-Israeli agreement, and his bias towards Israel was complete.

The second is Trump's Middle East advisor during his first term, and he is the architect of the so-called deal of the century.

The force of facts has undermined the deal of the century, under which the Israelis get everything and the Palestinians get nothing.

The Palestinians were required to acknowledge that Jerusalem is the eternal and unified capital of the Hebrew state. This is a matter that would lead to bloodshed, the end of which no one knows. Jerusalem has religious symbolism that is impossible to ignore.

Some kind of recognition was required to annex the settlement blocs to Israel, and this is a matter without which there are life-or-death clashes for more than (2.5) million Palestinians living in the West Bank.

The right of return stipulated in international resolutions should be abolished. This is a matter over which no one has any control, given that there is a large Palestinian bloc living in camps and refugee areas, and it is impossible to imagine that they would sever their ties to their roots in the occupied territories.

It was necessary to connect parts of North Sinai to the Gaza Strip like a surgical scalpel, manipulating historical geopolitics for the sake of Israeli security interests alone.

No one in Cairo was willing to even listen to that proposal, according to what the Israeli website Debka reported at the time.

An alternative proposal was then proposed, including the establishment of industrial zones in North Sinai to provide jobs for Gaza residents and a seaport for Gazans to travel to and from under the supervision of the occupation forces. This ended in the same failure.

The"deal of the century" essentially boils down to creating facts on the ground by force, excluding any international references or timetables, in exchange for promises to improve living conditions in the besieged Gaza Strip and separate its fate from the Palestinian cause.

In a very racist summary, Kushner believes that the Arab-Israeli conflict is nothing more than a real estate dispute!

The same ideas are re-emerging in the shadow of genocide and systematic starvation.

Its essence is to abolish the Palestinian cause as a national liberation issue, re-introduce the project of transforming the Gaza Strip into a tourist and investment destination, the Riviera of the Middle East, and return to forced displacement projects.

These are Kushner's ideas.

In his own words: The Gaza seafront could be of great value if the place were evacuated of its inhabitants and then cleaned up.

He pitched his idea to Trump in his first term.

One month after his return to the White House, it found its way into the public eye.

The clear and direct meaning of returning to such ideas and projects, which Blair also embraces, is that the scenario of forced displacement is imminent on the Egyptian border, but he is too cunning to openly call for that option.

In one way or another, the Trump administration, as it plans for the day after, is leaning toward allowing an expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza until this dangerous point can be reached.

Under so-called humanitarian pretexts, Palestinians will be called upon to leave Gaza.
