Rapper Jawad Asardi, nicknamed “Boz Flow” in the artistic community, left the prison of the city of Sefrou on Thursday evening, after the Court of First Instance decided to prosecute him while at liberty in exchange for bail of 100,000 dirhams.
The accused is being prosecuted because of the content contained in a number of clips that appeared in several of his songs, in addition to the statements and positions he expressed during his previous live appearances.
“Boz” was arrested in the middle of last week before being brought before the court in a session held on November 20, which decided to prosecute him while in custody, before he was brought before it today, and it decided to prosecute him while at liberty.
The court also set December 12 as the date for the trial of the famous rapper, whose arrest sparked a wave of controversy regarding freedom of expression and its limits, especially with regard to artistic productions published on digital platforms, artists’ social media accounts and their YouTube channels.
