US President Trump remains vague on the question of entering the war. The words of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei, however, are unequivocal – he is threatening the US.

In the name of"the merciful and gracious God," the Supreme Leader greets "the great and glorious nation" of Iran. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sits in front of a heavy brown curtain, beneath a portrait of his predecessor, Khomeini, and next to the Iranian flag. He wears the Palestinian keffiyeh draped around his shoulders and a black turban on his head. This is the first time the 86-year-old has spoken since Friday. US President Donald Trump had called on Iran to surrender. Khamenei found this unacceptable and ridiculous.

"The Iranian nation rejects an imposed war just as it rejects an imposed peace," said the Iranian head of state. For days, there has been speculation about whether the US might join the war against Iran alongside Israel.

Khamenei warns:"The Americans, who are familiar with the politics in this region, of course know very well that American interference in this matter is 100 percent to their disadvantage. What they will suffer is far greater than what Iran could suffer."

No conclusions can be drawn about Khamenei’s whereabouts

Presumably for security reasons, the Supreme Leader's message was initially only read out on state television. US President Trump had claimed that Khamenei's whereabouts were known and that he would not be killed for the time being. The video of the speech, which was later released, does not provide any information about the Supreme Leader's whereabouts.

The mutual attacks continue on the sixth day of the air war. According to Iranian reports, Israeli fighter jets bombed targets in the capital Tehran and the city of Karaj in the northwest of the country this afternoon. Israeli claims that the Internal Security Headquarters in Tehran had been destroyed have not yet been confirmed.

Iran spreads success stories

Meanwhile, Iranian state media is focusing on success stories, such as a suspected downing of an Israeli combat drone. A state television reporter stands in a field in front of debris.

"We are here in the eastern Isfahan region, where the Iranian army's powerful air defense system shot down a state-of-the-art Hermes drone that was equipped with homing weapons but had no chance of hitting its target," he said.

The Revolutionary Guards also reported that Iran fired its own Fattah hypersonic missiles at Israel for the first time last night. They say this is the beginning of the end of the Zionist regime.

Iranian media reported explosions and smoke in the Tehran district of Lavizan in the north of the city this afternoon – where Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is rumored to be in a bunker – but where military zones have also been set up. Even as the attacks continue, the organization NetBlocks reports that the internet in Iran is almost completely shut down.
