President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, September 1, reported that he had spoken with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who reported to him on further procedural steps regarding suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy , reported in Telegram channel heads of state.
"There are the first statements of the suspect. Further urgent investigative actions are now being carried out to establish all the circumstances of this murder," Zelensky wrote.
The President of Ukraine added that the entire team of law enforcement officers and prosecutors continue to work around the clock.
"I am grateful to everyone involved in this work. The National Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor's Office - everyone is acting as efficiently as possible. Thank you!", the Ukrainian president added.
The Parubiy Murder
UNIAN previously reported that the State Protection Department (SPD) explained that Andriy Parubiy did not have state protection, since after the termination of his powers, the aforementioned officials are provided with state protection for one year, except in cases where a conviction against them has become final. Throughout the entire term of office, people's deputies in Ukraine and members of their families who live with them or accompany such persons may be provided with security.
We also wrote that People's Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych noted that Parubiy had previously survived an attempt on his life. Viatrovych added that somewhere in 2015-2016 there was an attempt to kill him with a grenade. According to him, Parubiy was on the list for liquidation by Russia since 2022. The People's Deputy added that Parubiy had security for a while, but for some reason it was removed.
