By order of King Mohammed VI, a meeting was held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Royal Palace, chaired by his advisors, Taieb Fassi Fihri, Omar Azziman and Fouad Ali El Himma, with the leaders of the national parties represented in the two houses of Parliament, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.

The following is the text of the Royal Court's statement:

“By order of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, a meeting was held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Royal Court, chaired by His Majesty’s advisors, Mr. Taieb Fassi Fihri, Mr. Omar Azziman and Mr. Fouad Ali El Himma, with the leaders of the national parties represented in the two houses of Parliament, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad.

This meeting was dedicated, based on His Majesty’s instructions, to the topic of updating and detailing the autonomy initiative, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, in implementation of the royal decision contained in His Majesty’s high speech to his loyal people, on October 31, following the issuance of Security Council Resolution 2797.

This meeting falls within the framework of His Majesty the King's constant commitment to implementing a broad participatory and consultative approach whenever major national issues are concerned. In this regard, His Majesty's advisors informed the leaders of the political parties present of His Majesty's keenness to consult with them on this crucial issue of concern to all Moroccans, and invited them to submit their organizations' visions and proposals regarding updating and elaborating on the autonomy initiative.

During this meeting, the leaders of the political parties expressed their appreciation for the positive developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue, and their pride in the high royal decision to involve national political bodies and various institutions and the nation’s vital forces in developing a comprehensive, updated and detailed vision for the autonomy initiative in the Moroccan Sahara, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, in a way that guarantees the return of our brothers in the Tindouf camps, their reunification with their families and relatives, building their future, and contributing to the management of their local affairs, within the framework of a unified Morocco, as His Majesty the King emphasized in his last speech.

They also expressed their unwavering commitment to the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, and their absolute support for the initiatives and tireless efforts that His Majesty has consistently undertaken to defend the legitimate rights of our country, to consolidate the Moroccan identity of the Sahara, which culminated in the recent Security Council resolution, which enshrines the Moroccan autonomy initiative as the realistic and applicable solution, within the framework of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial and national unity, as the basis for negotiations to reach a final solution to this regional dispute.

In response to this gracious royal invitation, the leaders of the political parties affirmed their commitment to submitting memoranda on this matter to His Majesty the King as soon as possible.”
