"He actually offered to help mediate, and I said, 'Do me a favor, mediate for yourself. Let's mediate for Russia first, okay?'" Trump told reporters outside the White House."I said, 'Vladimir, let's mediate for Russia first, and you can take care of this later.'"

Delfi recalls that Putin offered to mediate in the Israeli-Iranian conflict on June 13. However, the European Union (EU) has said it is against it, saying that Russia"cannot be an objective mediator" due to its relations with Iran, a European Commission spokesman said in Brussels on Monday. In addition, Russia is"completely unreliable due to its war against Ukraine." However, Trump said he supported the idea after a phone call with Putin on Saturday.

After a phone call, Trump said he and Vladimir Putin agreed that the Iran-Israel conflict"should end."

"He, like me, believes that this Israel-Iran war should end, and I have made it clear that his war should end as well," Trump said on his Truth Social network, referring to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Trump on Iran strikes: 'I may or may not do it'

Trump said on Wednesday he was considering whether the United States should join Israel in its strikes on Iran, adding that Tehran had approached him seeking negotiations.

Speaking as he watched a new flagpole being installed outside the White House, Trump added that his patience with Iran had"already run out" and repeated his call for the Islamic Republic to "surrender unconditionally."

"I may or may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I'm going to do," Trump told reporters on the South Lawn when asked if he had made up his mind about U.S. airstrikes."I can tell you this: Iran has a lot of problems and they want to negotiate."

Trump said Iran had even offered to send officials to the White House to negotiate over Tehran's nuclear program in order to stop the Israeli airstrikes, but added that it was"too late."

"I said it's too late to talk. We could meet. There's a big difference between now and a week ago, right? A big difference," Trump added."They offered to come to the White House. That's, you know, brave, but it's going to be, well, not easy for them to do."

Asked what he meant when he called on Iran to "surrender unconditionally" in a social media post on Tuesday, Trump reiterated that his patience with Iran had run out.

"It's very simple - unconditional surrender. That means I've had enough, okay? I've had enough. I can't take it anymore, that's it, we're going to go and blow up all the nuclear things that are out there," Trump said.

Trump compared Iran to"schoolyard bullies," adding: "They're not bullies anymore, but we'll see what happens."

Asked if it was too late for negotiations, he replied:"Nothing is too late."
