The 28-year-old played regularly for Liverpool, but on Thursday night he and his brother André Silva died in a traffic accident.

Paying the rest of the contract

The English giants will support the brothers' family financially, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

Jota had a contract that extended until the summer of 2027 and according to reports, Liverpool will pay the remaining two years to the player's relatives.

“Will be immortalized”

The Portuguese wore the number 20 shirt when Liverpool secured the club's 20th league title last season.

"Number 20 will with every right be immortalized," the English club writes on its website.

Jota, who had three children with wife Rute Cardoso, was 28 years old. His brother André was 25 years old.
