There is a 25 percent chance that the meeting with Putin will fail, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News Radio, according to the Guardian.

Trump said Putin was coming to Alaska to put an end to the matter. In response to a question, he also said that the Russian leader was certainly influenced by the sanctions announced against India. India is one of the largest buyers of Russian oil and, according to Trump, if New Delhi does not buy more oil, it will affect Russia, so this certainly plays a role in Putin agreeing to the meeting.

During the day, there were reports that the Russian leader could be disarmed with economic opportunities, to which Trump said that he did not want to show his cards in public. However, the opposite of the above news was also heard, that it would be Putin who would promise his American colleague investment opportunities in the hope that he would switch from the Ukrainian side to his side.

During the interview, however, Trump tried to emphasize that the most important thing for him is to achieve results with Putin on the issue of the war, and if that is achieved, he will immediately call Zelensky and invite him to the meeting location so that the three of them can continue the negotiations. Even Trump does not know exactly where the second meeting will be held, but he thinks Alaska would be the easiest solution, since they are already there with Putin.

If Friday's meeting goes badly, he won't call anyone and will go home, the US president said. However, he confirmed that no matter how things turn out, he will definitely hold a press conference at the end, but it is questionable whether Putin will attend.

According to Trump, the point on Friday in Alaska will not be to achieve a ceasefire, but to fight for the aforementioned second meeting, where Putin and Zelensky will have the opportunity to make a deal and"share borders, territories," he said. Although the possibility of a territory swap was ruled out this week by both Volodymyr Zelensky and the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Trump also highlighted that he could impose additional sanctions against Russia in the event of failure.
