247 - The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes determined this Tuesday (26) that the Penal Police of the Federal District monitor Jair Bolsonaro (PL) full time.
Teams must re-conduct real-time surveillance of the former president's home address, who is serving house arrest. He is a defendant in the coup plot investigation.
According to the Supreme Court minister, monitoring must be done discreetly, without “undue exposure, including in the media,” and without adopting measures that invade Bolsonaro's home or disturb his neighbors.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes also ordered that the Federal District Public Security Secretariat be notified to take appropriate action. Bolsonaro's defense team must also be notified of the decision.
Investigated in the coup plot inquiry, Bolsonaro will be tried by the Supreme Federal Court on September 2. He was placed under house arrest and is serving precautionary measures due to his risk of fleeing abroad and obstructing justice.
In addition to being a defendant in the coup plot investigation, Bolsonaro was indicted by the Federal Police for obstructing the investigation into the coup attempt. He and his son Eduardo Bolsonaro (Platinum-SP), another indicted party, worked with the Donald Trump administration to impose sanctions on the Brazilian economy and the Supreme Federal Court.
