President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the most difficult issue during the peace negotiation process will be the issue of territories, but he emphasized that a ceasefire must first be achieved.

The head of state stated this during a briefing following talks at the White House with US President Donald Trump, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Our position is that let's first get a ceasefire so that we can sit down at the negotiating table, talk, and understand our positions. I think this is a very important first step, - Zelensky said.

According to him, Trump understands this position.

"I think the president (US Donald Trump - ed.) understands this, because the most difficult issue in any negotiations, in any format, will still concern territory," Zelensky said.

As reported, the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, concluded at the White House. The key issue of the negotiations was the means of pressure on Russia to achieve peace.

The day before, US President Donald Trump had a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which he called very productive. Trump said he would meet with Putin in Budapest to discuss the possibility of ending the inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine.
