"Last night, Russia carried out a massive combined strike that lasted almost ten hours. 18 missiles, including ballistic ones, and approximately 400 attack drones, of which almost 200 were Shahed," the president said on the Telegram platform.

The main target of the attack was the city and region of Kiev.

"The Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad and Kharkiv regions were hit. Unfortunately, two deaths were reported in Kyiv. I express my condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims," Zelensky said.

"This is a clear escalation of terror by Russia - hundreds of Shahed every night, continuous strikes, massive attacks on Ukrainian cities," the president said.

"This means that acceleration is needed. We need to apply sanctions faster and put pressure on Russia so that it feels the consequences of its terror. Partners need to be faster with investments in weapons production and technology development," the president emphasized.

"Today I will talk with partners, specifically in the Coalition of Goodwill, about additional funding for the production of drone interceptors and the supply of air defense weapons to Ukraine," Zelensky said.
