The ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which came into effect on October 10 under American pressure, has significantly reduced violence in Gaza, freed Palestinian prisoners, and secured the release of almost all Israeli hostages. Benjamin Netanyahu and Jared Kushner—the influential son-in-law of US President Donald Trump—discussed on Monday the first phase, in which we are currently located, aimed at securing the return of our remaining hostages, as well as the future of the second phase of this plan, which includes the disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarization of Gaza, and a guarantee that Hamas will never again have any role to play in the future of the territory, stated Israeli Prime Minister Shosh Bedrosian, spokesman for the Prime Minister.

This visit to Jerusalem, the Israeli press points out, comes as Washington seeks to secure agreements on the next phases of the ceasefire following the almost complete release of the hostages.
Israel repatriated on Sunday the body of Israeli officer Hadar Goldin, killed in 2014 during a war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, whose remains had been the subject of intense negotiations for years.
Hamas has thus released the last 20 living hostages from the October 7 attack and, despite significant delays, handed over 24 of the 28 bodies held hostage in Gaza that it pledged to return as part of the truce. The four bodies of hostages still held in Gaza belong to three Israelis and one Thai, who died during the unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which triggered the war.
Time seems to have stopped. I feel like he left just a few days ago and he's already back, said Hadar Goldin's sister, Ayelet, in a statement on Monday, after eleven years of waiting.
To harm
Speaking before Parliament on Monday, Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel would enforce with an iron fist the ceasefires in force in Gaza and Lebanon, where a war has pitted the Israeli army against Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas.
He promised to harmanyone who tries to harm us.
In addition to these releases and repatriations, the truce provides, among other things, for the disarmament of Hamas, which the Islamist movement opposes, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the reconstruction of the Palestinian territory ravaged by two years of war.

The truce agreement, supported by many countries, also provides for the deployment of an international stabilization force with soldiers from Arab and/or Muslim countries in the Palestinian territory.
President Trump said last week that he expected its deployment very soon to Gaza. And his administration wants the UN Security Council to give this force a mandate until the end of 2027, according to the draft resolution seen by AFP.
According to diplomatic sources, several countries have already indicated their readiness to participate in this force, including Indonesia, but insist on a Security Council mandate to deploy troops in Palestinian territory.
The United Arab Emirates will probably not join the stabilization force without a clear framework, presidential adviser Anwar Gargash warned on Monday at a forum in Abu Dhabi.
'In Gaza and Sudan, the UAE has played a key role in shaping the international response through the Gaza peace plan and the Quad initiative and will continue to contribute to resolving regional crises through diplomacy and humanitarian action,' said Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic…

According to Michael Milshtein, a researcher at Tel Aviv University, Israel can say no to the international force, but if Trump is convinced that it is a good idea, there will be foreign troops in Gaza.
The situation remains very changeable, many questions remain unanswered, but the second phase of the Trump plan can be implemented, according to what we see today, says Mkhaimar Abusada, a political scientist in Gaza.
On the ground, we still do not feel safe, Salma Abou Shawish, 40, a resident of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, told AFP, referring to sporadic gunfire or strikes.

Following the identification, the IDF struck and eliminated the terrorists in order to remove the threat.
On Monday, the Israeli army claimed to have killed two people who had approached the yellow line, which marks the area beyond which the Israeli army withdrew as part of the ceasefire.
