The main stage at Tomorrowland suffered a major fire on Wednesday, according to the organizers of the famous electronic music festival two days before the opening of its nineteenth edition in Belgium.

Videos shared on social media and photographs published in the local press show large flames emerging from the left side of the stage and thick gray smoke in the surrounding area. Here we share the most impressive ones.

Emergency services are working, confirmed the local police, who have prioritized the safety of the festival employees present in the flamenco locality of Boom.

Police also asked residents in the area to close doors and windows to prevent smoke poisoning.

The event is scheduled to take place from July 18 to 20 and from July 25 to 27 in Boom, in the province of Antwerp, in the Flemish region.

This year it announced a new setting simulating a dreamlike world of ice, on its 16 stages which are scheduled to feature, according to the programme, Martin Garrix, considered one of the biggest stars in dance music; Solomon, also known as the king of the 'afterparty', or the well-known David Guetta, among many other artists on a long list.

Tomorrowland is held annually in the Belgian town of Boom, in multiple stages with decorations that simulate a world of magic and fantasy, and welcomes more than 400 thousand people in each of its editions.

No one was injured in the incident.Images shared on local news sites and social media showed flames and plumes of black smoke enveloping the scene and spreading into nearby woodland.

“We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident,” they added.
