Ukraine will expand its attacks deep inside Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday after a high-level meeting attended by arms manufacturers. Zelensky reminded that Russia's war against Ukraine is already paying a concrete price, with Russian refineries being the target of Ukrainian strikes.
“We analyzed the effectiveness of our long-range strikes over a certain period and the results achieved. Russian oil processing is already paying a tangible price for the war and will pay even more,” Zelensky wrote about setting new goals on the Telegram social network.
Ukraine is actively using its long-range drones and cruise missiles to attack strategically important objects in Russia, the RBK-Ukraine website noted. It recalled that, according to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces damaged one of the largest Russian refineries in Ryazan on the night of October 23, and two days earlier, British Storm Shadow missiles hit a chemical plant producing explosives and rocket fuel in the Bryansk region.
The Ukrainian army has been regularly attacking Russian oil industry facilities since the summer, describing them as military targets that meet the needs of the Russian army in the war against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also mentioned on Monday the new needs to strengthen Ukraine's air defense in conditions where the country is facing Russian attacks on infrastructure and energy facilities."The partners have the necessary systems, and it is important for Ukrainian diplomacy to be more active in preparing appropriate solutions," the president noted.
