On the morning of Aug. 12, a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport aircraft was deployed to Jordan.

The C-130 will conduct airdrop operations to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, at the invitation of the Jordanian government.

The humanitarian aid includes medical supplies from the Ministry of Health, and food supplies from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) like Humanity Matters, Caritas Humanitarian Aid and Relief Initiatives Singapore, Mercy Relief, and the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation, coordinated through the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre.

58 defence and military personnel were deployed in support of these operations.

This is the second time that the RSAF C-130 is conducting airdrop operations to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Singapore and Singaporeans have conveyed nine tranches of humanitarian assistance for Gaza, totalling over S$22 million.

According to a Mindef news release, Singapore will continue to work closely with regional partners to support the pressing humanitarian needs in Gaza.
