This meeting will take place after Trump met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, where they discussed key issues of the ceasefire and the war in Ukraine.

The meeting will also be attended by US Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, and White House Chief of Staff Susan Wiles.

Together with V. Zelensky, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and leaders of major European countries arrived in Washington.

However, due to a last-minute change in the meeting plan, these leaders will not attend the meeting - V. Zelensky, his chief of staff Andriy Yermak, and the head of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov will arrive at the White House.

V. Zelensky stated that the main issue at the meeting would be the architecture of Western security guarantees for Ukraine and called on D. Trump to take tough measures against Russia.

Trump, after meeting with Putin in Alaska on Friday, is seeking to get Ukraine to give up territory to help end Moscow's invasion and has ruled out allowing Kyiv to join NATO.

Before the meeting at the White House, Zelensky met with US special envoy Keith Kellogg, and later European leaders convened a"preparatory meeting" for the Ukrainian president.

The last time Trump and Zelensky met at the White House, it turned into a diplomatic scandal when the leaders and US Vice President J.D. Vance publicly clashed on live television.

After the altercation, Zelensky left the White House ahead of schedule and the leaders' joint press conference was canceled. The main goal of the meeting - an agreement on rare earth minerals - was not achieved at that time.
