President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday afternoon to participate in the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits.
The plane that carried Marcos and his delegation landed in the Malaysian capital at 2:50 p.m.
“As always, our participation in the ASEAN Summit reaffirms our dedication to deepening regional cooperation and to advancing the well-being of every Filipino and the entire Southeast Asian community,” Marcos said in his departure speech at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.
“I will continue to champion our advocacies in promoting an open, inclusive, and rules-based international order and for the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law,” he added.
Marcos will also attend bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit and formally accept the chairmanship of the ASEAN for 2026.
