A manhunt, currently fruitless, has been launched by the police and the FBI to identify the perpetrator of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at the University of Utah, which has caused shock but also great tension in the USA.

As reported by the head of state security, Beau Mason, authorities are looking for a person – dressed in dark clothing – who was allegedly recorded by security cameras.

It is believed that the sniper shot Kirk once in the neck from the roof of another building on campus. However, several hours after the incident, there is no indication that US authorities are close to locating him.

It is recalled that in the first hours after the murder two suspects were arrested, but both were released. Neither of them was linked to the shootings, a statement said.

The explosion was heard as Charlie Kirk was answering a question about mass shootings using firearms.

The man to whom President Donald Trump had credited the mobilization of youth in his favor grabbed his neck and then collapsed.

Seriously injured, he was rushed away by security officers, but then succumbed to his injuries.

Trump's statement

Speaking from the Oval Office, Donald Trump claimed that the rhetoric of the radical Left contributed to the murder of Kirk, whom he described as a martyr for truth and freedom, while speaking of a dark day for the country.

For years, the radical Left has equated wonderful Americans like Charlie with Nazis and the worst criminals and mass murderers in the world. This rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are experiencing in our country today, and it must stop immediately, he argued in a video released via Truth Social.

"My government will find all those involved in this atrocity and any other political violence, including the organizations that fund and support them," he said.
