Despite a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that has been in effect since last Friday, a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli drone strike on the town of Al-Fakhari in Khan Yunis, south of the Strip.

Local sources reported that Israeli vehicles opened fire northwest of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian News Agency, WAFA.

She noted that Israeli vehicles opened heavy fire around the Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah, and noted that drones were flying low in the same area, near Rafah's Mawasi.

Meanwhile, three Palestinians were reportedly killed in an Israeli attack on eastern Gaza City, according to Al Arabiya.

This came after a busy day in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, following Israel's release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, and Hamas' handover of the 20 living Israeli captives and four bodies.

US President Donald Trump announced last Wednesday that an agreement had been reached on the first phase of the Gaza plan.

Just one day after the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attack, indirect talks that spanned nearly four days in Sharm el-Sheikh resulted in an agreement on the first phase of the 20-point US plan to stop the war and exchange prisoners.
