According to reliable sources, the primary court in El Jadida handed down, on Tuesday, 90 years of imprisonment to the defendants in the case of the rape of the child Bashir during the “Moulay Abdellah Amghar Festival”.
The same sources, including the Doukkala Non-Governmental Associations Network, explained that the verdict was issued in the case of the sexual assault against the son of the city of Youssoufia, and he was supported by the local committee of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights during all stages of the trial of the accused.
According to the same sources, the six defendants were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each.
The aforementioned network issued a statement on the sidelines of the widespread anger sparked by the incident, in which it called on the Ministry of the Interior, in the form of the governors of the El Jadida and Sidi Bennour regions, to issue a decision to prevent overnight stays in tents during religious seasons, especially the Moulay Abdellah Amghar season.
