Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the attack on Qatar was a decision made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"The attack on Qatar was a decision made by Netanyahu, not mine," Trump said in a speech, adding,"I directed Rubio to finalize the defense cooperation agreement with Qatar."

He added,"The unilateral Israeli attack on Qatar does not serve the interests of Israel or the United States," explaining,"I directed Witkoff to inform the Qatari side of the Israeli attack, but the warning came unfortunately too late."

Trump noted,"I spoke to the Emir of Qatar and its Prime Minister and assured them that such a thing will not happen again in Qatar," adding,"I want all hostages released and the war to end immediately."

Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that it had launched a precision-guided airstrike on the Hamas leadership in Doha, noting that it had dubbed the operation"Day of Reckoning."
