Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that kyiv has formally conveyed to Moscow its intention to resume talks, which had been interrupted since early June."The momentum of the negotiations must increase," he said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this Saturday that his government has formally proposed to Russia that they resume peace talks next week, following a stall in early June.
As detailed by the president in his regular evening address, the Secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council, Rustem Umerov, was responsible for conveying the proposal to the Russian side."Secretary of the Security Council, Umerov, also reported that he has proposed the next meeting with the Russian side for next week," Zelensky stated.
The Ukrainian president stressed the importance of reviving the diplomatic process:"The momentum of the negotiations must increase," he declared. Talks between the two countries have been suspended since early June, with no significant progress toward an agreement that would end the conflict.
With this initiative, Kyiv seeks to reopen dialogue with Moscow and explore possible avenues toward a negotiated solution to halt the armed conflict that continues to affect both nations.
