All four round of 16 teams in Group B have already been determined. Lithuania has four wins in five matches and Germany has four wins in four games, Finland has three wins in four games, and Sweden, Montenegro and Great Britain have one win each in five matches, finishing in that order.

Latvian basketball players started the tournament with a 73:93 loss to Turkey, then beat Estonia 72:70, then suffered an 80:84 loss to Serbia, and on Monday defeated Portugal 78:62. The Czechs lost consecutively to Portugal (50:62), Turkey (78:92), Estonia (75:89) and Serbia (60:82).
In the game with Serbia, striker Andrejs Gražulis suffered a foot injury for the Latvian national team, for whom the final tournament is over, while Artūrs Žagars and Kristers Zoriks were injured in the match with Portugal, with Zoriks remaining on the sidelines for Wednesday's game.
Head coach Lukas Bankis is assisted by coaches Jānis Gailītis, Artūrs Visockis-Rubenis, Žanis Peiners and Dāvis Čoders, as well as physical training coach Oskars Ernšteins, on the Latvian national team.
The European Championship final tournament will feature 24 teams in four groups in late August and early September in Riga, Tampere, Katowice and Limassol. The top four teams from each group will qualify for the play-off tournament in Riga, with the medal winners to be determined in the first half of September. The round of 16 will feature teams from Groups A and B, as well as Groups C and D.
