President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has terminated the Ukrainian citizenship of Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, former People's Deputy Oleg Tsarev, and ballet dancer Serhiy Polunin.
A source informed Ukrinform about this, Ukrinform reports.
Earlier today, following a meeting with the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, Zelensky stated that the presence of Russian citizenship in some individuals has been confirmed - appropriate decisions have been prepared regarding them. He signed the decree, the President said.
The source clarified to Ukrinform that Trukhanov, Tsarev, and Polunin were deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.

As Ukrinform reported, the petition"On the termination of Ukrainian citizenship of Odessa City Mayor Gennady Trukhanov" on the website of the President of Ukraine has received the support of more than 25 thousand people. The document states that materials of journalistic investigations have repeatedly appeared in open sources, which contain data on Trukhanov's possession of a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and a Russian tax number. These facts indicate that Trukhanov has dual citizenship, which contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine, which establishes the principle of single citizenship.
Tsarev in Ukraine sentenced to 12 years in prison for encroaching on territorial integrity.
A native of Kherson, dancer Sergei Polunin openly supported Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, calling him a"great leader," and approved of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
