Serbian Investment Minister Darko Glisic, who suffered a stroke on TV Pink this morning, has undergone successful surgery. But his condition remains serious. This was announced by Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar, RTS reported.
Minister Lončar added that his colleague is on a respirator and is in the intensive care unit of the Clinical Center in Belgrade.
He said the intervention was complicated and took longer than usual because two blood vessels were damaged.
"One large blood vessel was completely blocked, and the other was not only blocked, but also bleeding. The doctors were able to fix the problem with both blood vessels, and now they have blood flow," Loncar said.
He added that Glisic is still in serious condition and that he will remain on a respirator until tomorrow morning, and then a serious fight awaits him.
"I can tell you that interventions were performed that are performed in few centers around the world. The good thing is that he (Glisic, editor's note) arrived here in the first hour and a half and that these interventions have greater success and better results when they are performed as soon as possible. This time this was observed - everything was done in the shortest possible time," Loncar pointed out.
