Today, signals were needed that America is considering opportunities to strengthen our cooperation.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an evening video address, Ukrinform reports.
Zelensky spoke with United States President Donald Trump in great detail about energy, about the possibility of strengthening air defense.
The President of Ukraine informed his American colleague about the situation in Odessa, in our other cities and communities.
“President Trump asked about the situation in the capital, in our other regions. The world sees what Russia is doing and how it is trying to take advantage of the fact that world leaders are focused on trying to end the war in the Middle East,” the head of state emphasized.
According to Zelensky, there are great chances that the agreement will work. The more peace, the more security in one region, the more opportunities it gives to everyone in the world. Ukraine always calls on the world to support our defense, to support our work here, in Europe, for the sake of security.
"Unfortunately, Russia is a terrorist who is looking for any opportunity to strike harder, especially when the world's attention is elsewhere, even when it is already obvious that they, in Russia, remain the only, literally the last source of a full-scale war," Zelenskyy concluded.
Ukraine expects that the United States of America and all other partners will continue to act strongly, to exert strong pressure so that Ukrainians feel supported, have protection, so that Ukraine is able to withstand.
"Today I received the necessary signals that America is considering opportunities to strengthen our cooperation," the president informed.
In addition, the head of state spoke today with the Prime Minister of Canada, and also primarily about Ukraine's needs in air defense and energy support.
"Our PURL program, which allows us to purchase American weapons, including Patriot missiles, is going well. I thank all NATO partners who are already in the program, and we will be grateful to Canada for expanding its participation," the head of state noted.
The President of Ukraine coordinated contacts with the leaders of other countries and, based on the results of today's conversations with the leaders, has already given the necessary instructions to the Ukrainian team - the military, the Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“There must be results,” the president assured.
