Today, the environment of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Pokrovsk district No. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference, answering the question of whether Ukraine plans to withdraw troops from Pokrovsk in the event of a threat of encirclement, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

"Our forces are controlling the situation near Pokrovsk. There is a tense situation with the enemy there on all sides. You remember the situation with the Kursk operation. You remember, in terms of information, how it was - there was a lot of different things. That we had 5 or 8 thousand surrounded. That was a lie, no 5-8 thousand, no one was surrounded. All commanders on the ground understand - how can we allow encirclement? No way. People are more important than anything, everyone understands this. But you should know, they do not dominate there today. There are many of them, but to say that they are winning is not true," Zelensky said.

He added that the situation in Pokrovsk is difficult, as the Russian Federation has concentrated about 170,000 of its military in this area.

"This morning, I spoke with the commander-in-chief, there are no changes in Pokrovsk. There are Russians in Pokrovsk, ours are destroying them, destroying them little by little. Because we need to protect the personnel... What Russia says - I was in some offices, geometrically different. And I saw different maps. I saw a map of combat operations on the territory of Ukraine, which looks strange. I saw other maps. For some reason, we have different maps of real combat operations in Ukraine, Russia, Europe, the USA. And at some point we coordinate all this, we understand where there are problems and where there are manipulations," Zelensky added.

"Putin says he will go to Pokrovsk. But I would love it if he came to Pokrovsk. Everyone will applaud. We understand how it will all end," the head of state said.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, also spoke about the situation in Pokrovsk:

"When we speak of Pokrovsk, we must thank all the Defense Forces, who work there mega-professionally and mega-devotedly. But let's start with the fact that the enemy first declared that we were about to take it one of these days a year and three months ago. During this time, they have covered 7 kilometers. Mega-powerful specialists, in quotes, have covered only 7 kilometers. But they have lost tens and tens of thousands in killed. I am silent for the wounded. But today everyone there has joined forces. They are simply being crushed there every day," said Malyuk.
