The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation, on Tuesday, of the Israeli targeting of Hamas leaders in Doha.

The Ministry's statement said:"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Republic of Iraq's strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli entity's attack targeting Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha. It considers it a cowardly act that represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territory of the sisterly State of Qatar, and poses a threat to its security and stability."

The ministry affirmed that "this attack comes within the context of the ongoing systematic policy of killing and displacement pursued by the occupying entity against the Palestinian people, which exposes regional and international security and peace to further tension and escalation."

She reiterated "Iraq's firm position in standing by the government and people of the sisterly State of Qatar, and its full support in confronting any attacks that affect its sovereignty or threaten its national security," stressing "the necessity for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in putting an end to these aggressive practices."
