The arrested European national entered Iran on a tourist visa.

The Revolutionary Guards did not provide any information about on whose behalf the man was supposed to have spied.

According to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russia does not see itself as a mediator in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
