The Israeli army has attacked the Mushtahi Tower high-rise building.

This is the first sign that the offensive on Gaza City has begun, according to Axios journalist Barak Ravid.

“The gates of hell have opened,” says Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.

The IDF claims that the high-rise building was used by Hamas for military purposes.

On Friday afternoon it was blown up.

“In the coming days, the Israeli military will target buildings in Gaza City that have been transformed into terror infrastructure: cameras, observation command centers, sniper positions and anti-tank weapons,” the IDF said in a statement.

Staff working in the tower deny the information in a post on Telegram, saying they have no access to cameras, security equipment, or weapons.

According to Axios journalist Barak Ravid, the attacks on high-rise buildings are a sign that Israel is now launching its first offensive on Gaza City.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz says attacks on Gaza City will intensify until Hamas releases hostages and lays down its weapons.

"The gates of hell have been opened and once the door is opened it will not be closed."
