Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has strongly condemned recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran, reiterating the importance of resolving Tehran's nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means.
Lavrov made the remarks during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the summit of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the Chinese city of Tianjin on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two top diplomats discussed issues of common interest, as well as regional and international developments.
"We had the opportunity to discuss some of the developments that are taking place rapidly,” Lavrov said in a video released in the first minutes of the meeting.

During the talks, the Russian side once again said the crisis related to Iran's peaceful nuclear program can be resolved solely through political and diplomatic means, and in accordance with international law, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministers also agreed on future contacts at various levels, the ministry added.
The 25th Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization began on Tuesday in the Chinese port city of Tianjin.

The main objective of this two-day meeting is to review the latest political, security, and economic developments in the region as well as key priorities, including enhancing security cooperation against terrorism, supporting multilateralism, boosting regional trade, and expanding the organization's role in Eurasian geopolitical arrangements.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Russia last met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Brazil.
The meeting took place after the unprovoked acts of aggression launched on June 13 by the Israeli regime and the United States against the Islamic Republic.
