Slovakia is facing a significant change in weather and several dangerous weather phenomena related to it in the coming week. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) warned about this on social media. It therefore recommends paying increased attention to the meteorological situation in the coming days, continuously monitoring forecasts, warnings, the current situation and adjusting your activities accordingly.
On Sunday evening and Monday night (7. 7.) there are expected to be storms mainly in the western half of Slovakia. According to meteorologists, the most likely dangerous accompanying phenomenon will be gusty winds and torrential downpours. During Monday, storms are expected to be mainly in central and eastern Slovakia. They may bring torrential downpours and gusty winds, as well as large hail.
Storms in the East
During Tuesday (July 8), storms will mainly affect central and eastern Slovakia, which means torrential downpours and gusty winds again. In the evening, there will be strong gusty northwesterly winds in western and central Slovakia.
On Wednesday (July 9), gusty northwest to northerly winds are expected in many parts of Slovakia. Heavy wind-driven precipitation may also occur in northern Slovakia."The warning levels for individual weather phenomena may be adjusted as the situation develops," meteorologists reminded.
