The meeting in Alaska between the Russian and American leaders proved the possibility of negotiations simultaneously with the continuation of the special operation in Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated in his Telegram channel.

Medvedev outlined the main results of the meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in five points. In particular, the summit restored a calm, full-fledged mechanism of high-level meetings without ultimatums and threats. Putin, as the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council recalled, outlined in detail Moscow's conditions for ending the conflict in Ukraine to the US President, and the head of the White House refused to escalate pressure on Russia.

Important: the meeting proved that negotiations are possible without preconditions and simultaneously with the continuation of the SVO, wrote Medvedev.

The main result of the meeting was that both sides directly placed responsibility for achieving future results in negotiations on ending military action on Kyiv and Europe, Medvedev believes.

The leaders met on August 15 at the Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Base, where the three-on-three ministerial meeting lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. Putin said at a press conference that the talks were held in a constructive atmosphere and expressed hope that Kyiv and Europe would not hinder the emerging progress in the settlement. According to Trump, agreements have been reached on many issues, but there is no deal yet.
