On Tuesday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed strong support for Israel in its war against Iran. The attacks continue with full force.

“Israel is doing the shit job for us. We are also victims of this Iranian regime that has brought death and destruction to the world,” Merz said in an interview with German broadcaster ZDF.

The statement came in connection with the G7 meeting in Canada, where Germany is participating.

At 12:00 Norwegian time, it was reported that Israel attacked targets in western Iran. At least ten Iranian scientists linked to Iran's nuclear program are said to have been killed, according to Israeli military officials to Reuters.

Israel will achieve its goals in the war within a week or two, The Times of Israel reports, citing an Israeli military (IDF) official.

President Donald Trump has previously said the United States is not involved in Israel's war against Iran. Nevertheless, he wrote the following message on Tuesday:

“We now have full and total control of the skies over Iran,” he wrote on Truth Social, the president’s own social media platform.

He also says they know exactly where Iran's leader Ali Khamenei is hiding.

– He is an easy target, but is safe there. We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not yet, he writes on the platform.

IAEA: Hit Iran's nuclear facility

On Tuesday, the UN Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that Iran's Natanz nuclear facility was apparently hit by Israeli attacks, NTB writes.

At the moment, the IAEA does not have any further details, other than that it appears to be the underground part of the facility that was hit. They are basing their analysis on satellite images.

The state-run Iranian news agency IRNA reports that Iran's air defenses have shot down an Israeli F-35 fighter jet near Tabriz, in the northwest of the country. This is said to be the fourth F-35 shot down since the fighting began on June 13, according to the news agency.

Neither the Israeli nor Iranian claims have been verified.

Iranian media reported last night several explosions and heavy anti-aircraft fire in the capital Tehran.

On Tuesday morning, Israeli authorities said that the chief of staff of the Iranian military had been killed. This has not been confirmed by other sources.

Her stiger røyken over Teheran.

Israeli drone workshop reportedly destroyed

Iranian authorities have reportedly uncovered a workshop in Isfahan that allegedly produced Israeli drones and explosives, according to an Iranian website. Such workshops are said to have been central to the execution of the attack on Iran on June 13.

A person connected to the workshop has reportedly been arrested and accused of having ties to the Israeli security service Mossad, writes Iran Nuances.

According to the DPA news agency, a video is circulating online that purports to show findings from the workshop.

Trump: – What a shame!

This year's G7 summit was held in Canada on Monday. US President Donald Trump led the summit on Monday evening – one day earlier than planned.

At Truth Social, the president was clear in his speech to Iran:

– They should have signed the deal I asked them to sign! What a disgrace, and a waste of human life. Long story short: Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. I have said it again and again and again! Everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately, Trump wrote.

Israel has used the threat that Iran is acquiring nuclear weapons as a justification for the attacks. But Iran was up to three years away from acquiring one, according to US intelligence .

New nuclear agreement?

On Tuesday, Trump said, according to Reuters, that he wants a real end to the conflict with Iran and that he is seeking something better than just a ceasefire.

The newspaper Axios has spoken to sources who say there is contact between the White House and Iran over the possibility of a meeting this week, regarding a possible new nuclear agreement and ceasefire.

The US has increased its presence

"We have a defensive military presence in the region to stand strong in the pursuit of a peace agreement, and we hope that's what will happen," Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in an interview with Fox News.

He confirmed that the United States has strengthened its military presence in the region. The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz is said to have been redirected there from Southeast Asia.
