Breaking news... The CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Congress has been canceled. Özgür Çelik has been suspended by court order. An interim executive committee consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz, and Erkan Narsap has been appointed to replace the suspended CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters. Meanwhile, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the indictment regarding the CHP Istanbul election has been accepted and a lawsuit has been filed with the Istanbul 72nd Criminal Court of First Instance.
Breaking news... In the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the CHP 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress held in Istanbul on October 8, 2023, the court ruled yesterday with an interim decision to dismiss CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and his board.

THOSE REMOVED FROM OFFICE AND THOSE APPOINTED IN THEIR PLACE
In its decision, the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance decided to suspend Özgür Çelik, the main and alternate members of the Provincial Executive Board, and the main and alternate members of the Provincial Disciplinary Board from their duties.
A temporary management team consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz and Erkan Narsap was appointed to replace the suspended officials.

39th ORDINARY CONGRESS WORKS HAVE BEEN STOPPED
In the decision, it was decided to suspend the Supreme Board-Congress Delegates from their duties as a precaution, and to suspend only the District Congresses and Provincial Congress election works to be held by the Istanbul Provincial Organization among the election works included in the congress calendar of the 39th Ordinary Congress process, which was initiated in accordance with the decision taken by the Central Executive Board of the Republican People's Party on July 14, 2025.
