Trump's Attacks on President Petro and Colombia

US President Donald Trump made very important statements at the White House that are closely related to the world agenda. President Trump made notable statements regarding Venezuela, which he has been threatening for a long time. Trump said,"We are striking Venezuelan boats. We will soon see a ground operation in Venezuela."

US President Trump responded to a question in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) regarding claims that the US had sent B-1 bombers off the coast of Venezuela by saying,"That's not true. No, it's false." The US President emphasized that they were not at all pleased with Venezuela's actions regarding "drug trafficking" and that they would continue to "fight" against drug cartels in the Caribbean.

Noting that they are not satisfied with the Venezuelan administration, Trump argued that this country is also sending illegal immigrants to the US and that (former US President) Joe Biden's administration knowingly allowed this.  Trump said,"Our borders are now closed. In fact, no one has come for the last four months, I think five months. Now the people who come to our country are only coming legally."

MOBILITY IN THE CARIBBEAN

US President Trump had previously ordered the increased and more effective use of the army in his executive order to combat Latin American drug cartels.

In this context, the US sent a naval force consisting of a submarine and warships off the coast of Venezuela in late August, and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said the US military was ready for operations in Venezuela, including regime change.

Venezuelan President Maduro, in response, announced that he had mobilized 4.5 million militia forces in the country and was ready to repel any attack.

On the other hand, the US's continued targeting of certain boats off the coast of Venezuela on the grounds of"drug smuggling" has drawn criticism from both the Venezuelan administration and the international community, with it being argued that the attacks are"contrary to international law."

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that they have deployed thousands of Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles to the country's strategic air defense zones to counter possible US action, as the country increases its military presence in the Caribbean.

According to CNN, Maduro addressed the military threats posed by the United States, which continues to expand its operations in the Caribbean, during an event attended by military personnel.

Stating that they deployed Russian-origin"Igla-S" type short-range anti-aircraft missiles in the country's strategic air defense areas, Maduro said,"All military forces in the world know the power of the Igla-S, and Venezuela has more than 5,000 of them."

Maduro said that the missiles, which are light enough to be carried by a single soldier, were deployed in"the farthest mountain, the farthest town and the farthest city of the country."
