US President Donald Trump called his initial promise to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine with"sarcasm" and admitted that "it's more difficult than people can imagine." He writes about this Clash Report.

He did not specify whether the US would continue providing military assistance to Ukraine, saying that he would consider the issue.

"As for the money, we'll see how it goes. You know, Putin has to stop this war, people are dying," Trump said at a press conference at the NATO summit.

A BBC correspondent asked him if the US was ready to sell Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.

"Listen, they really want to get these, what they call them, Patriot missile defense systems. We'll see if we can find some free ones. You know, they're very hard to get. We need them too. We supply them to Israel. And they're incredibly effective. And yes, Ukraine wants them more than anything else, as you probably know. That's a very good question," he replied.

As it says BBC, journalists who were present at the press conference note that judging by the tone of Trump's response, he does not rule out such a possibility.

Patriot systems for Ukraine

Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine received a signal about the possible transfer of old Patriot systems from Israel, but none of them have yet arrived on Ukrainian territory. According to him, even before Hamas's attack on Israel, there was an agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the transfer of the relevant air defense systems.
