In Marrakech, the closing ceremony of the 93rd Interpol General Assembly concluded with a highly symbolic moment: the handover of the organization's flag to Hong Kong, designated to host the 2026 session. This ritual, now a tradition within Interpol, marks the official transfer of responsibility between the outgoing host country and its successor. The ceremony took place before more than 800 delegates from 179 member countries, including 82 police chiefs and 25 ministers and deputy ministers. Morocco, host of the 2025 edition, presented the organization's emblem to the Hong Kong delegation, led by representatives of the Chinese Public Security Bureau and the Hong Kong Police Commissioner.
INTERPOLβs General Assembly is hosted by a different member country each year.
