US President Donald Trump said he made a"great decision" by sending in National Guard forces to deal with the unrest that broke out over the weekend in California over his immigration policy, Agence France-Presse and Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"If we hadn't done this, Los Angeles would have been completely ruined," Trump said in a post on his Twitter account.
In the same post, he also made new criticisms of California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, calling them"very incompetent."
"They chose to lie to Californians and Americans by saying they don't need us and talking about 'peaceful protests,'" Trump added.
The situation in the Californian metropolis remains tense after three days of clashes between law enforcement and protesters dissatisfied with the government's migration policy.
