President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to nighttime massive shelling Russians and stated that interceptor drones have already begun operating to protect our cities.
"Fires are still being extinguished and debris is being cleared after another Russian strike. This was one of the largest air strikes, a demonstratively significant and cynical strike. A total of 550 targets were hit, at least 330 of them were Russian-Iranian"shaheeds", missiles were also used, including ballistic ones. Moreover, the first air alerts in our cities and regions began yesterday almost simultaneously with the start of the media discussion of President Trump's telephone conversation with Putin," he said in Telegram.
According to the president, Russia is once again demonstrating that it is not going to end war and terror.
"Only at about 9 a.m. this morning was the air raid alert lifted in Kyiv. A tough, sleepless night. The capital was the main target of this Russian strike. Our soldiers managed to shoot down 270 air targets, another 208 drones were suppressed by electronic warfare means. Interceptor drones began to operate - dozens of hits," Zelenskyy emphasized. He also emphasized that the state is now doing everything possible to develop this direction.
But the head of state also emphasized that it is important to maintain support from partners. Patriot air defense systems and missiles for them are necessary for protection against ballistic missiles. Zelensky added that in general, in addition to Kyiv, Dnipro, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions were also affected by today's Russian strike.
"Currently, 23 people are known to have been injured. Everyone is receiving assistance. There are many places where drone and missile debris fell. Unfortunately, there are also direct hits. And all this is clear evidence that without truly large-scale pressure, Russia will not change its stupid destructive behavior. For every such blow to people and lives, they must feel corresponding sanctions and other blows to their economy, to their earnings, to their infrastructure. This is the only thing that can be achieved quickly to change the situation for the better. And this depends on partners, primarily the United States," the president noted.
