A three-day, two-night G20 itinerary will include a presentation of Korean policies and a declaration of commitment to cooperation with Africa.
Meeting with MIKTA leaders… Bilateral talks with French and German leaders

(Johannesburg = Yonhap News) Reporters Lim Hyeong-seop and Hwang Yun-gi = President Lee Jae-myung, who finished his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt, arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the G20 summit will be held, on the afternoon of the 21st (local time).
The president is scheduled to attend the two-day G20 summit in Johannesburg the following morning, with the theme of “solidarity, equality and sustainability.”
The official sessions of this summit are comprised of “Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth that Leaves No One Behind,” “A Resilient World,” and “A Fair and Just Future for All,” and President Lee will participate in all three sessions.
In his opening remarks, the president is expected to reveal his vision for Korea's role in the international community, along with plans for an"AI-based society" and "inclusive growth and fiscal policy."
Earlier, National Security Office Director Wi Seong-rak introduced the schedule for this visit, saying,"We will introduce Korea's fiscal and climate change policies and lead related policies in the international community," and "We will reveal our will to contribute to solidarity, cooperation, and development with Africa."
In addition to the official schedule, such as the opening ceremony and dinner, there will also be separate meetings with the leaders.
First, a meeting is scheduled with the leaders of the member countries of MIKTA, a consultative body of five middle-power countries (Korea, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, and Australia) led by Korea.
In addition, the president plans to hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of France and Germany.
The President will conclude his three-day, two-night South African itinerary with a meeting with fellow Koreans following the conclusion of the G20 Summit. He will then head to Turkey, the final stop on his four-nation tour of the Middle East and Africa.
