Putin arrived in the Chinese city of Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, whose participants have been criticizing the West from the very first day and talking about a “new world order.” Putin said in one of his statements that this new world order would be more just than the “European or Euro-Atlantic one.”

Chinese leader Xi Jinping also called for"building a world order with multiple centers of power and a more just and balanced global governance system."

The leaders of both countries called each other friends and emphasized the good relations between the countries. However, behind the broad smiles and announced joint economic projects, there is a simple truth - at least for Moscow, close cooperation with Beijing is vitally important. China also benefits significantly from Russia, so this friendship is dictated not so much by sincerity as by elementary calculation.
