Netanyahu spoke to Fox News ahead of a cabinet meeting where his plan to occupy the entire Gaza will be discussed.
Responding to a question about Israel's invasion plan, Netanyahu said they aim to"take control of all" of Gaza.
Netanyahu, who claimed that they were"not considering annexing or governing" Gaza, said,"We want to hand over Gaza to Arab forces that will govern it properly, without threatening us, and that will provide a good life for the people of Gaza."
The Security Cabinet, which will discuss the plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, convened in West Jerusalem under the chairmanship of Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, many people, including relatives of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, held a demonstration near the building where the cabinet meeting was held.
The demonstrators demanded that the invasion plan, which they said would put the lives of Israeli prisoners at risk, not be accepted.
'BRING THE PRISONERS TO THE PLACE OF OCCUPATION'
In a statement released by the umbrella platform formed by the families of Israeli prisoners, it was stated,"Chief of General Staff, we ask you to stand strong. You are the commander in chief. Do not consent to endangering our loved ones."
The statement called on commanders at all levels of the Israeli army not to act in a way that would endanger the lives of prisoners and prevent the possibility of returning the bodies of Israeli prisoners. It was stated that instead of occupying Gaza, the prisoners should be returned through a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange agreement.
“Any other decision would be blatantly inhumane and would spell disaster for the prisoners and all of Israel,” the statement said.
British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters said that Israel's decision to occupy the whole of Gaza would be a"big mistake".
Speaking about the plan for a full invasion of Gaza, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's security cabinet is expected to approve this evening, Walters told Israeli reporters:"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have done everything they can in Gaza, and they will achieve nothing more by fighting any further. Prolonging the war any further will only lead to more deaths. Deaths of soldiers, deaths of Palestinians and possibly even deaths of hostages."
He also added that if Israel wants to defeat Hamas,"it cannot do so by military means alone. This requires politics and diplomacy, and offering the people of Gaza an alternative to Hamas in a post-war Gaza."
